The highlight of the conference was the election of a new executive body to steer the affairs of the Association for the 2024–2027 term. Dr. Sylvester Amara Lamin was elected as President, with Umu L.K. Jalloh as Vice President and Michael Mitchell Conteh, Esq., as Secretary General.

At the AGM, several essential activities will be undertaken to ensure the effective governance and continued growth of SLASW. Members will revisit the outcomes of the National Social Work Conference held in March 2023, reviewing and approving the minutes from that historic gathering. Directors will present detailed reports, summarizing the Association’s activities and achievements over the past year, while also addressing key challenges that lie ahead.

George Mansaray, the esteemed President of the Sierra Leone Association of Social Workers (SLASW), has recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Advanced Development in Social Work, an achievement made possible through the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. This advanced degree, jointly facilitated by universities in the UK, Denmark, France, Portugal, and Poland, underscores Mansaray’s unwavering dedication to the field of social work.
