Who We Are
The Sierra Leone Association of Social Workers (SLASW) is the premier professional organization for social workers in Sierra Leone, dedicated to advancing the profession and promoting social welfare. Formally established in 2023 after the National Social Work Conference, SLASW has been affiliated with the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) since 2016. Our diverse membership includes social work professionals, students, and advocates who work tirelessly across sectors such as Children Protection, healthcare, education, mental health, community development, and social services to improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities throughout Sierra Leone.
With a national presence and regional coordination, SLASW provides a unified platform for professional development, advocacy, and collaboration. We are committed to empowering social workers, shaping policies that support the most vulnerable populations, and strengthening the social work profession across the country.
